Hiking & Coach Tour

Join us for a Rainforest Hike and Coach Tour. Your adventure begins when you are met by a local guide and embark on a scenic,
7-mile drive along the beautiful shoreline of our breathtaking land once known as Sheet'ka. During the drive, your guide will narrate the history of Sitka, and point out local landmarks. The drive concludes at a historical landmark known as Old Sitka.

You will begin your hike at the Starrigaven muskeg trailhead. This trail allows you to journey through many ecosystems. Discover the unique flora and fauna of old-growth temperate rainforest, muskeg flats, a salmon spawning stream and a natural bird watching estuary.

Guests will be returned to their point of origin following the hike.

This is a fun and educational experience with topics on rainforest ecology, edible and medicinal plants, muskeg environment, salmon cycles, resident wildlife, and Tlingit culture.

As a participant, you will receive a disposable rain poncho, bottled water, salmon jerky and granola bar. This hike is considered easy and will operate rain or shine. Regular walking shoes are recommended. Moderate to advanced trails are available for those wanting a more challenging hike.
