Administrative Services Department {ASD}

Under the direction of KathyHope Erickson, ASD provides essential support services to the Tribal council, Tribal Citizens, and other Tribal departments - Administration encompasses Human Resources, Enrollment, Tribal Council Support, Communications and Information Systems, Facilities and Grounds Maintenance, and general administrative support for the Tribe. Doug Bartels greets and directs visitors and callers as receptionist; Christine Paul provides enrollment services; Ricardo Morales manages information systems; Dorcy Hatmaker handles facilities and grounds maintenance; Henry Johnson provides janitorial services for our many facilities; Kay Simmons is staff support to the Tribal Council; and Krystal Paul and Geraldine Benson provide on-call admin support throughout the year.

General Manager's Office

Ted Wright was hired in January, 2012 succeeding Lisa Gassman as full-time, General Manager of the Sitka Tribe of Alaska. Ted earned a Master's Degree in Educational Administration and a Ph.D. in Education Theory & Policy from Penn State University. Though his doctorate was in education, Ted was a fellow in the American Indian Leadership Program at Penn State and concentrated his studies on tribal governance, tribal community development, and the problems tribes have in developing healthy communities and economies. His doctoral dissertation was titled: "A Case Study and Theoretical Analysis of the Problem of Power for American Indian and Alaska Native Tribes."

Dr. Wright has developed a 7-year Strategic Plan for leading the Tribe forward and has been given a five year contract by the Tribal Council. Please find a link to the plan under documents, below.
