Whole fish and wood chips will make compost!

The ideal ratio for composting comes in at abot 30:1 carbon to nitrogen (on a molecular level). In the case of fish and wood, this works out to about 3 parts wood chips to one part fish. The wood chips also had sawdust mixed in. This was excellent, for the wood chips lent porosity to the pile, while the sawdust lent a good source of bioavailable carbon for the composting process.
