The purpose of
the Higher Education Scholarship Program is to financially
assist qualified full time students enrolled in accredited colleges or
universities. Funding through the Higher Education program is allowed
for up to 5 years per student’s lifetime. Priority is given to
enrolled members of the Sitka Tribe of Alaska. The deadline for the
Higher Education Scholarship program is May 1st for Fall, and Spring
semesters and Oct 1st for Spring Semesters. Drop

STA SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
The purpose of
the Adult Vocational Training Scholarship is financially assist
qualified unemployed or underemployed applicants in a vocational,
apprenticeship or on the job training program. The maximum funding for
a AVT program is 24 months per lifetime. Students enrolled in a
Registered Nursing program will be allowed 36 consecutive months to
complete their degree. Funding through the Sitka Tribe of Alaska is
strictly supplemental. A majority of funding must come from other
sources.. An enrolled local member of Sitka Tribe of Alaska will be
given first funding priority.

STA is currently
working on a new scholarship program that will provide
financial assistants to tribal citizens that are part-time students or
would like to take local Cultural classes. The scholarship would also
offer financial assistants to high school students wanting to take
college courses, and high school students in need of funding for extra
curricular activities.
STA also offers
Related Services such as General Assistance programs (including
childcare assistance) that can assistant Tribal Citizens while going
to school but you must apply before you start or leave for school.
STA also has a Tribal Rights Employment Officer which can assist
Tribal Citizens with their resume and job interviewing skills. |
